Quantitative measurement of cholesterol in human capillary or venous whole blood and is intended for use by healthcare professionals.
SUMMARY
Total cholesterol is the sum of all the cholesterol contained in lipoproteins in the blood. It is an important monitoring indicator for hypercholesterolemia and can also predict the risk of ASCVD development. Total Cholesterol Test Strip is used with the analyzer to measure total cholesterol levels in whole blood. When the tip of the Total Cholesterol Test Strip is touched to a drop of capillary whole blood in your finger, the test strip draws the blood into the reaction chamber. Measuring time is about 25 seconds and only about 1μL blood is needed. On the analyzer the test result of your total cholesterol level will be displayed.
TEST PRINCIPLE
The Total Cholesterol Test Strip uses electrochemical biosensor technology. A whole blood sample is drawn by capillary action into a reaction zone on the strip automatically that will achieve a stable sample volume. When the cholesterol in whole blood sample reacts with the reagent on the electrodes, a current can be detected by the analyzer when applying a fixed potential across the electrodes. The current is then converted into a reading of cholesterol concentration.
