Excessively high or low concentration of uric acid will result in uric acid syndrome such as polycythemia rubra vera, hyperlipemia, acute and chronic nephritis, renal tuberculosis, malignant blood disease, gout, chronic leukemia, and multiple myeloma. The detection of the concentration in serum uric acid can help the diagnosis of tumor and leukemia, and it can serve as the indicators for the clinical diagnosis of gout, rheumatic arthritis and nephritis and facilitate the early diagnosis of renal lesions. Uric acid Test Strip (EUS-101) are used with Multifunction Analysis Meter(Glucose & Uric acid)(GUM-101) to measure Uric acid levels in whole blood. When the tip of the Uric acid Test Strip is touched to a drop of capillary whole blood in your finger, the test strip draws the blood into the reaction chamber. Measuring time is about 30 seconds and only about 3μl blood is needed. On the monitor of the Multifunction Analyzer (GUM-101), the test result of your Uric acid level will be displayed. The Uric acid Test Strip measures Uric acid range from 179μmol/L (3 mg/dl) to 1190μmol/L (20 mg/dl).
PRINCIPLE
The Uric acid Test Strip(EUS-101) uses electrochemical biosensor technology. A whole blood sample is drawn by capillary action into a reaction zone on the strip automatically that will achieve a stable sample volume. When the Uric acid in whole blood sample reacts with the reagent on the electrodes, a current can be detected by the Multifunction Analysis Meter(Glucose & Uric acid)(GUM-101) when applying a fixed potential across the electrodes. The current is then converted into a reading of uric acid concentration.
